Frode's work focus on innovation and improvement with particular interest in partite- and participation based organization - in individual companies, firms in network and regional networks. He considers the network-based processes as particurlary interesting methods for innovation and continuous improvement / development in the private and public sectors, as well as in society. Network processes can speed up the development and at the same time offer opportunities for sharing of expertise and manpower in the process.

Frode has an M.Sc in ICT from the University of Stavanger, and an engineering degree in Electronic Computing and Automation from Ostfold University College. During his first years at Ostfold Research, Frode worked at the Institute of ICT in Halden, also as a leader, where he worked with R&D in the ICT sector and with the use of ICT before transferring to the Institute of Business and Regional Development Research in 2002.

Before he started at Ostfold Research, he worked as a security advisor focusing on information security at, amongst others, the Norwegian Data Inspectorate, the Norwegian Tax Inspectorate and Ostfold County Council.

Furthermore, he is a dedicated handball co-coach for junior teams.
