Synnøve has worked at Ostfold Research since 1995. She is currently working on her PhD which she began in January 2007. It focuses on how companies utilise external networks in their innovation and development processes. The PhD project is part of the Verdiskapning 2010/VRI Ostfold project, and comes within the area of Business and Regional Development Research in the company. Academically, the PhD is linked to the EDWOR program (Enterprise Development and Work Life Research) in Industrial Economics and Technology Management at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim.
From 1995 to 2007, she worked in the area of Environmental Protection Research, principally in the areas of environmental technology, documentation of environmental performance and the optimising of packaging and food product systems.
She is enthusiastic about creating opportunities for the exchange of knowledge between industry and research, and about optimising the environmentally sound use of resources in industrial plants. Her work is characterised by her systematic approach and the implementation of her thorough knowledge of the challenges facing companies. These actively contribute to increased success in the companies with whom she works.
Synnøve graduated with an M.Sc in Mechanical Engineering from NTNU in 1992. She is also trained as a coach (Meta-NLP™ Master Practitioner).
Previously, she was employed at Aker Engineering (now Aker Kværner) in Oslo, where she worked with the onshore processing facilities for gas at Kollsnes outside Bergen.
Her spare time is spent together with family and friends, exercising, enjoying outdoor life and personal development. How to create balance, both on our planet and in life, are questions which concern her, and she’s still looking for answers.
