Erik's work at Ostfold Research is on projects directed towards reducing the environmental impact in value chains linked to various food products.
He is also working on Innochem, a project which aims to help companies develop products which fulfill the regulations in REACH and at the same time optimise the total environmental impact in the life cycle.
In addition he works on projects relating to environmental energy production. Erik is especially interested in climate questions, conversion to renewable raw materials and more efficient utilisation of resources.
He has an engineering degree in organic chemistry from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) -1987, and then, from 1992-3, studied environmental protection at the Centre of Development and the Environment, University of Oslo. He has worked as a research scientist at the institute of Environmental Protection Research at Ostfold Research since August 2006.
He was employed as a research scientist at Norsk Hydro from 1989-1992 and as a project leader at Stiftelsen Miljømerking from 1993-2007 with the exception of the years 1999-2004, when he worked as a consultant in the field of environmental protection.
He is trained as a yoga teacher and is a member of Zen Fredrikstad. His interests includes movies, literature, music and outdoor life.
