Business and Regional Development Research
In the area of Business and Regional Development Research the focus is on application oriented research and development (R&D) in relation to innovation and innovation processes within both the private and public sectors.
R&D will help to support sustainable regional development processes within the region as well as nationally and internationally.
The main academic focus is directed towards developing knowledge about the models for the implementation and the execution of innovation processes related to individual enterprise, networks and regional networks.
Specifically, this work focuses on documentation and analysis with regard to how the innovation models are built up, the organisational methods and techniques used in the models, the effectiveness of the use of the models and critical success factors in the use of the models with particular focus on the early phases of the innovation process.
The research is based on a broad understanding of innovation, and the concept is rooted in a system of theoretical perspective with its focus on a combination of the following approaches: Dimensions of innovation related to the individual business, intrapreneurship and entrepreneurship.
The research uses the following methods: Action research, comprehensive process management / documentation of experience / analyses / model and method development, studies, formative and summative evaluation and basic social science methods.
