The research focuses on eco-efficient utilisation of energy and waste resources. Environmental profiles for production, use and exploitation of various types of waste and energy resources are calculated on the basis of life cycle assessments (LCA). These calculations can then be used to improve the exploitation and use of different types of waste and energy resources.
Project examples:
- Environmental assessments to establish what is environmentally the best utilisation of used packaging and how the recycling of packaging can be optimised, from an environmental point of view.
- Input for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) of various types of power plants, for instance Waste-to-Energy or Bio-energy plants.
- Environmental assessments of the production of different types of energy. E.g. electricity and heat based on different types of bio-energy, biofuel and oil or gas and electricity based on different types of energy sources .
